Welcome to the Modern Middle Ages! We're glad you want to join us.

This page has a few activities to introduce you to the wide variety of activities available in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Remember, everything is voluntary: you can do as much or as little as you want; if there is something you'ld like to learn or do, just ask, and someone will point you in the right direction. We were all newcomers at one time.

Newcomer's Quest - Nine simple activities to "get your feet wet" in the SCA. These activities can be completed in any order, and as you complete each one, you get a sticker, and when you complete all of them, you get a Cote du Ciel shire token.
Cote du Ciel's Yahoo! Group - keep in touch with Shire members between meetings, check the calendar for upcoming Arts & Sciences classes and events, and share files and photos.

The SCA is participatory history re-creation: everyone is part of the game, there are no observers. Therefore, we request that everyone in attendance at events make an attempt at wearing clothing from a culture before 1600 AD. Don't feel like you have to do this all on your own, though. There are plenty of people willing to either help with "loaner garb" or teach you how to make your own T-tunic.
